Barclay Grayson's profile

Polo Noir - An Annual Tradition in Willamette Valley

The senior vice president of the BPM Real Estate Group in Portland, Barclay Grayson manages property acquisitions and ground-up developments. Maintaining a strong presence in the Portland community, Barclay Grayson regularly attends the Polo Noir festival, which is held annually in late July and pairs polo events with local Willamette Valley wine, food, and music.

The event is held on one of three polo fields at the 88-acre Hidden Creek Polo Club in West Linn. Located only 10 miles from the city, the polo grounds are collectively known as The Portland Polo Fields. The Championship Field spans 300 yards by 160 yards, which is 10 acres or the same size as nine NFL football fields combined.

Polo Noir encompasses two full polo matches, which last a total of three hours. There is also a DJ spinning vinyl records throughout the day. The fourth and final Polo Noir event will be held this year, as the host and property owner plan to retire from the sport and sell the property.
